  • Welcome to my blog!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am a photographer located near St. Louis who travels to Chicago often. I absolutely love taking pictures and capturing those moments that my customers will cherish for years to come. I pretty much love photographing scenes as they unfold not as they are posed. With that in mind I try to take photographs that are as natural looking as possible. I photograph all sorts of things, but focus on weddings, portraits & children. I have also done some fashion photography.

  • whats up now

So I spent about 15 hours straight today working on the blog. I upgraded the format because the company I use, Prophoto, came out with new features. Then I was having trouble with the slide shows, so I kind of erased the entire blog (there was no backup..now there is!) and had to reset the wordpress on the server and reload everything through the FTP. But alas I lost about 15... entries! So I had to spend the latter half of the day restoring some of them.

Carmella

So Carmella, her mother Kelly and I spent several hours yesterday shooting some pictures of her. We went to a park and a coffee shop here in downtown Belleville. Mother nature seems determined to keep winter around for as long as she can so the weather was not so great. It was though only the first day of spring. We had a lot of fun, which included some icecream and chicken mcnuggets. Here are some favorites from the shoot!

My first press book

It’s taken me a while to sift through all the options availble for photographers when it comes to printing. I am happy to say that with the help of Diversfied Printing in St. Louis I have found a press book supplier that I am very happy with. They are printed on a heavy 110 stock paper and have beautiful front and back covers. They come in sizes: 6×6, 8×8, 8×10, 10×8, 10×10. The one shown here is 8×8.

Jessica

Jessica & I went out and shot some photographs for her portfolio. It was a pretty bleak day outside but that did not stop us from having a lot of fun and capturing some really nice shots.

my vintage dress!

So I originally borrowed this dress from Cherry Bomb Vintage on Cherokee in St. Louis but loved it so much I bought it. This is Sarah in these shots and she did a terrific job modeling it. I have this dress hanging on my office door so any model who wants to be shot in it let me know! This is an original 1960s party dress.

Tessa & Jori in Chicago

I was in Chicago this week and had a great chance to shoot Tessa & Jori on Michighan Avenue. It was cold outside, but we had such a good time. Of course cookies always help a shoot with kids to go smoothly!
